Sonia Kashuk has just introduced her first capsule collection of “luxe, limited-edition cosmetics that rival any prestige, seasonal range.” The warm golds, bronzes, corals, and coppers are inspired by Kashuk’s recent trip to the exotic locale of Morocco. The packaging is so beautiful and elegant that you’ll want to leave them all out for display.

The Sahara Sunset Bronzing Blush Stick in Marrakesh, $11.99, is an easy-to-apply, multi-use bronzing/blush stick that contains a high concentration of pearl for luminosity and subtle shimmer. The lightweight, blendable formula went on very nicely over my foundation, and gave me a natural looking glow – no need for a suntan. I added a bit of Sahara Sunset Blusher in Casablanca (see review below) and was very pleased with the whole effect.
The Sahara Sunset Eye Shadow Palette in Desert Escape, $19.99, is small but packs a lot of punch. Bronzy nude, sand, shell pink and terracotta colors are paired with an unexpected matte deep eggplant shadow. It allows you to create a multitude of looks. I used the lightest shade on my lid, a medium tone in my eye crease and used the darkest to line my eyelid and underneath my eye. Added bonus: the silky powder formula applies easily, blends well and is long-lasting. This collection is as good as any expensive high end product—and it’s now my new fave!
Billed as a “high-shine, hydrating lipstick” that “instantly plumps up lips with glossy, sheer color”, the Sahara Sunset Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Colour in Eden, $11.99, is infused with moisturizers and amino acids to inhibit the weakening of collagen fibers. The multi-tasking formula smoothes and softens lips. I found the formula a bit too sheer and the color was soft, but only because I am a lover of super-saturated red lip colors. However, I did like the hydrating qualities and if you love the look of a soft and natural glow, this lip color is for you. It’s a great summer pick.
The Sahara Sunset Blusher in Casablanca, $11.99 contains a baked powder formula said to “blend effortlessly into the skin and impart sheer, buildable color for the most natural-looking flush.” I used it with the Bronzing Blush Stick (reviewed above), adding a bit of the coral powder to my cheeks with one of Sonia’s amazing brushes (review on brushes coming soon)! I just loved the color—not too pink, not too bronze, it was just a perfect rosy hue. And unlike many powder blushes, this one had staying power. I applied it early in the morning and by evening, it was still going strong. I just found my new spring-summer blush!
The collection also includes Sahara Sunset Nail Color in Sand Dune, $4.79.
