I like soft lips as much as the next girl, so I was eager to try Soap & Glory‘s Mighty Mouth Extreme Hydrating Super Glossy Lip Balm , which promises to“boost collagen stimulating peptides to increase circulation, diminish appearance of lip wrinkles” and “hydrate with a mountain (70%, to be specific) of moisturizers” which are designed to plump. Okay, all sounds good to me.
Winter is tough on lips — I could use some softening in that department.
To start, the fragrance smelled sweet — a cross between chocolate and coconut — and tropical, all at the same time. The gloss itself had an appealing baby-pink color and was emollient without being too gooey (hate that I just-wiped-my-mouth-in-an-oil-slick feeling). I did not notice any diminishing of lip wrinkles, (maybe you need to use it longer than the two days that I applied it?) but I experienced a mild tingling sensation that I imagined was the result of all that increased circulation.
Afterwards, my wintry, dry lips did feel smoother and softer, so that was a nice benefit. I think I’ll keep this one in the tool kit, and see if prolonged use does anything about those pesky fine lines. But even without those results, this is a good, solid gloss; its color, fragrance and texture make it worth the $22 price tag. Available at Sephora stores & www.sephora.com.
