Joey New York® is a skincare line that has been around since 1993, yet their new Quick Results Collection only recently caught my attention. You see, I just celebrated a birthday and, well, let’s just say I clearly remember when Michael Jackson resembled Bruno Mars.
I won’t provide references that go back further because I think the Bruno Mars-Michael Jackson sentiment will resonate with many readers. What I’m trying to convey is that it is now time to up my skincare routine.
I’ve become a little obsessed with seeking out skin-smoothing ingredients, specifically gentler alternatives to the tretinoin (Retin-A) and hydroquinone mixture recommended by dermatologists and some plastic surgeons, or the retinol drugstore products that dry me out.

It is no surprise that a serum promising “quick results” immediately caught my attention, just like the furrow between my brows did when I turned 39-years-old (cat’s out of the bag).
I jumped at the chance to check out Joey New York’s Correct-A-Line For Face And Eyes Filler And Primer ($36.00), a gel serum filler and primer that aims to minimize the appearance of pores and lines.
Shira testing out her primer/filler, eager to see results!
The ingredients in this primer are green coconut water (“healing and protein rich”, according to company literature) and Indian ginseng extract (“stimulating”). Usually, I only wear blush unless I am attending an event, so I first tried the primer as a serum rather than as a base before makeup.
In testing it out the first time, I used it as my stand-alone moisturizer. I found that the product absorbed into the skin super-quickly, and that you have to be quick in making sure you’ve spread it across your face or you’ll just end up with soft fingers.
I loved the smoothness of this gel serum and based on the “quick results” promise, I was back at the mirror within five minutes after application, slightly impatient and overeager. I think I was expecting the fine line between my brows to disappear completely and for the small pores on my nose to magically close within seconds.
Before
Coming to my senses, I decided to wait until morning, and I did notice a difference when I awoke: my skin felt soft and I didn’t do my usual rush-to-wash-my-face routine, basking in the benefits obtained overnight. The line between my brows was still there, but almost unnoticeable, and the pores on my nose looked tight, practically nonexistent.
The next step was to actually try the product out as a primer, bearing in mind that my readers would want to know how well it fared under makeup.
After
This time, after applying the Correct-A-Line, I used OroGold 24K Exclusive Dark Circle Eye Solution ($248.00) instead of my usual waterproof Lancôme concealer. What I love about this eye cream is that not only is it formulated to diminish puffiness and wrinkles, but it instantly gives you a bright look because it contains an illuminating pigment much like makeup.
According to the OroGold spokespeople, the solution contains 24 karat gold, vitamin A, C, E and allantoin — to hydrate the delicate skin around the eye. The vitamins and antioxidant properties of gold (an ancient remedy rumored to have been used by Cleopatra) refresh skin over time, reducing the look of puffiness and dark circles.

I have noticed my under eye puffiness and dark circles have diminished since using this product. Furthermore, Joey New York’s Correct-A-Line was an excellent primer when used prior to the OroGold solution, giving it intense staying power (when it is usually something I must reapply throughout the day). It did the same for my liquid blush, which lasted until I washed my face that evening.
Bottom line: I would definitely recommend Joey New York’s Correct-A-Line as both an anti-aging serum AND as a pre-makeup primer. The green coconut water and Indian ginseng extract gave me such supple skin. The one key thing I would advise others to keep in mind is that it should be applied quickly due to its super-fast absorbability.
What do you beautynistas think of Shira’s results? Would you use this Quick Fix serum at night or before your makeup?
