2013 Golden Globe Awards Makeup Trend Photos - How To Get Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain Beauty, Hair Looks

BeautyStat couldn’t help but pick our two favorite makeup looks from last night’s 2013 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Jennifer Lawrence rocked the red carpet with warm hues on her eyes (consisting of brown shades), nude pink lips and a pop of healthy color on the cheeks. Jessica Chastain’s fair skin was the main focus of her look, with soft washes of color on her eyes and a bold berry lip to offset her soft, feminine look. Read on to find out how to capture these looks for yourself at home!

Jennifer Lawrence

Makeup Artist: Jillian Dempsey

Inspiration: For Jennifer’s makeup, Jillian was inspired by the sleek, form-fitting red hot Christian Dior Haute Couture dress Jennifer wore paired with Chopard jewelry, Brian Atwood shoes and a Ferragamo clutch. Jillian explains, “I decided to play off the vibrancy of her poppy red dress with both warm and neutral hues.”

Step 1: Prep skin with L’Oréal Paris Magic Lumi Primer ($12.95) to create a silky finish followed by L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup ($10.95) and Makeup For Ever Compact Shine On ($30.00)

Step 2: Dab the L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Color Lift Blush in Berry Lift ($12.95) under the cheekbone and blend outwards to create a healthy flush and highlight on the cheeks.

Step 3: To create a rich effect and build dimension on the eye, blend and contour shades of warm gold and coffee using L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Eye Shadow Quad in Army Brat 312 ($7.95).

Step 4: Apply Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Black ($34.00) to create an exaggerated edge followed by multiple coats of black mascara for intense lashes with L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara in Blackest Black ($9.95).

Step 5: To lend a natural sheen to the lips, start with a pale pink stain like L’Oréal Paris Colour Caresse Shine Stain by Colour Riche in 183 Pink Resistance ($9.99) then layer a nude lipstick over it, L’Oréal Paris Colour Caresse by Colour Riche Luminous Lipcolour in 181 Sheer Linen ($9.99).

Jessica Chastain

Makeup Artist: Kristofer Buckle

Inspiration: Jessica Chastain’s Golden Globes look was “classic Hollywood meets new Hollywood.” Kristofer’s inspiration for her beauty look was “water color as opposed to painting,” so he created washes of color instead of strong lines and shapes. Jessica wanted her lips to off-set the softness of her dress, so they decided on a deep berry stain for a bold pop of color.

Step 1: Kristofer gave Jessica’s complexion uniform texture with L’Oréal Paris’ new Revitalift Miracle Blur ($24.99) before using a foundation brush to lightly apply YSL’s Le Teint Touche Éclat in B10 ($55.00). Understanding that the red carpet is all about skin, Kristofer also used Revitalift Miracle Blur on Jessica’s décolletage, shoulders and back to create a creamy, “perfect skin” look.

Step 2: To address any little imperfections and highlight around the eyes, Kristofer reached for the cult-favorite YSL Touche Éclat ($40.00).

Step 3: He then dusted the caramel shade found in L’Oréal Paris’ Colour Caresse Eye Shadow Quad in What Happens in Vegas ($7.95) onto Jessica’s lids and used the bronze shade toward the outer corners of the eyelids. He also used a bit of the bronze shade under her eyes to open them up.

Step 4: On Jessica’s lashes, Kristofer applied three coats the L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara ($9.95). He used the waterproof version (“a must during awards season, especially for a nominee”) and only applied it on the top lashes to ensure her eyes looked lifted. In place of a liquid liner, he used the mascara to create a winged eye look that’s fresh and modern.

Step 5: Jessica felt there should be an expressions of ruby in her makeup, so Kristofer swiped the L’Oréal Paris Colour Caresse Shine Stain in Berry Persistent ($9.99) onto her lips.
