It’s hard to imagine that yet another Fashion Week has come and gone with the supersonic speed. Shows sprout up like mushrooms, but trends are here to stay. While it may be six more months before these trends surface in every window display, mall and mail-order catalog, there’s no reason why you can’t prepare and anticipate, right?
Here is the eye candy we’re lusting after:
#1 The Half Moon Nail Look (Butter, London) created by Nonie Crème. Apply nail lacquer in Yummy Mummy on the top part of the press-on nails, & the shade called Jack Black above the bottom cuticle.
#2 The “Girly-Girl” look for the show, Band of Outsiders (girl on the right, above); Dick Page for Shiseido Cosmetics (we especially love the Shimmering Rouge Lipstick in Golden Dragon).
Lip liner doubles as eye liner in Derek Lam’s show
#3 Rock star chic: the orange eye at the Derek Lam show and bold eye colors at Victoria Beckham were more fierce than cheetah. Check out how Estee Lauder’s Tom Pecheux created the look for Derek Lam (note how the thick, gooey lip liner doubles as eye liner). You can get the look by using the Double Wear Stay-In-Place Lip Pencil in Coral, and Pure Color EyeShadow in Sugar Cube or Sandbar Beige.
#4 Guerlain’s reintroduction of their always trending Meteorites are forever, just like DeBeer’s diamonds. We predict that the eye shadow palettes and blush éclat will be huge staples for Spring/Summer 2011.
#5 Coral Lips surfaced strong at the Vena Cava show, and Christian McCulloch for MAC Cosmetics smashed the stage with his fierceness. Get the same look with the Pro Longwear Lipcreme by MAC in “Good to Go.”
#6 Sleek hair, pony tails and braids didn’t end in high school. Check out the Christian Siriano Spring 2011 show, people! To get such hair, use Aveda’s Air Control TM Hair Spray and the Aveda Pure Abundance TM Hair Potion. LAMB also showed off braids at the last night of Fashion Week.
Another hairstyle that’s in vogue for Spring? The slightly “messy” hairstyle , a la Narcisco Rodriguez. Use a volumizing spray or gel to gently lift hair at the roots (we love Tigi Catwalk Your Highness Thickening Gel Cream and Root Boost Spray).
Which look will you be rocking for Spring next year? Care to spill your fashionable little secrets?
