THE TRENDS: ROCK AND ROLL HAIR, SLATE-GRAY NAILS AND A CORAL LIP
The Spring / Summer 2011 vision of Thuy is like a muted version of Alice in Wonderland: there are whimsical details, minis and tops bursting with pinks and petals, over-sized lapels and filled with delicious jewel tones.
And so it makes sense that makeup artist Lottie for Make Up For Ever chose a brilliant, coral-y raspberry shade from the Rouge Artist Intense line (#39) for the models’ lips in an effort to portray a sheer, girly look. She used a super matte loose powder for the face, and dusted the eyelids with a Peachy Diamond Eyeshadow #305 on the lids for an ethereal, goddess effect, along with a Smoky Lash Mascara.
The nails, done by Sunshine for Zoya Nailpolish are a beautiful shade of gray called Kelly .
The hair was done by Rodney Cutler who used Cutler’s Finishing Spray to get the look. It’s such a “messy yet done look” says Cutler. At the end of the day, it’s a very rock and roll look.
