Are you a “boy girl” or a “girl girl”? At the Band of Outsiders Fashion Week Spring 2010/2011 show, the theme was definitely that of an “asexual sexuality.” The rock star city girls wore messy black eyeliner and the country girls wore pronounced blush on their cheeks.
“Girl girls” wore flowy dresses, while “boy girls” wore menswear like pants and blazers. The makeup was done by Dick Page for Shiseido Cosmetics. “We went with a very “mauvy rose” on the lip for the girl girls,” says Page. “It’s very transparent, almost opaque. Then we applied a little Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment on the lips and skin.” Page used the incredible Automatic Fine Liquid Eyeliner on both lashes, and to get a tattered, smudgy almost-graffiti feel to the eye makeup for the “boy girls.” He used the Shimmering Rouge Lipstick in Golden Dragon to the cheeks to get that rosy, freshly-pinched cheek glow.
The hair, done by Neil Moodie for Bumble & Bumble was an imperfectly done braid prepped with Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray on wet hair. Then he blow dried the hair and pulled it back into a ponytail, only to give it full, fat braids. There was no comb through, only pure finger work. And for an edgier look, take the braids out and leave the hair loose.
