The beauty industry honored 6 of its highest-achieving women along with a company committed to women’s advancement at the 38th Annual CEW Achiever Awards event on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.
The honorees, which were nominated by Cosmetic Executive Women’s board of governors and selected by CEW’s Achiever Awards committee, represented women in the beauty industry who have inspired others within the business. The Achiever Awards is the only industry award that recognizes the achievements of women and serves as an inspiration for future leaders.
New to the Achiever Awards luncheon this year, there was also a keynote address delivered by Sheri McCoy, CEO, Avon Products. The CEW Achievers are:
• Julia Goldin, Chief Marketing Officer, Revlon;
• Carolyn Holba, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Maybelline New York * Garnier * essie
• Agnes Landau, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Clinique
• Claudia Lucas, Director, Beauty Merchandising, QVC
• Karen Buglisi Weiler, Global Brand President, M•A•C (2012 Honoree)
In addition, Karen Dubin, Founder & Director, Sniffapalooza received CEW’s Great Idea Award for Fragrance Innovation for bringing excitement to the fragrance category by engaging consumers in events worldwide with a knowledge and love of fragrance. The award was presented by International Flavors & Fragrances.
CEW also honored Unilever with the Corporate Empowerment for Women Award for its commitment to the advancement of women within its organization.
“The Achiever Awards are so important to the beauty industry because they celebrate the accomplishments of powerful women leaders. This event motivates women to excel and to become leaders,” says CEW President, Carlotta Jacobson.
