Primers can be a funny thing. Either they are regarded as a necessity or as an extra step, usually containing ingredients that aren’t very beneficial to the health of your skin. But still, you need that extra something whether it be to prime, control oil, even your skintone or blur imperfections.
That’s why the Canadian skincare brand B. Kamins makes it their goal to create functional, effective skincare products, even when they are designed to serve for a cosmetic purpose.
Introducing their latest creation: the B. Kamins Corrective Primer ($49.00). This primer does it all by fading the look of large pores gradually, evening skintone, lines, wrinkles and oily skin. Plus, it will extend makeup wear, set concealer and prevent eyelid creasing.
With the brand’s BioMapleTM Complex, it will balance combination skin and control oil over time, boasting 15-hour priming efficiency. You can wear it alone or after using the B. Kamins BB Cream. If worn alone, it diffuses light to create a flawless appearance.
Ideal for dry, combination, normal, sensitive or oily skin, the hydrating rice bran extract and exfoliating glycolic acid perfects skin texture, minimizes pore size and improves skintone.
Niacin (vitamin B3) promotes micro-circulation, prolonged hydration and reduces dark spots.
Made of 60% dimethicone, it doesn’t feel sticky, pasty or liquidity. It pumps out just the right amount of a clear, thick gel that applies down to a silky (eventually matte) finish. It can be worn all over your face or just on your T-Zone.
I applied it to my forehead, nose and chin. I usually dab my forehead throughout the day, especially since I have bangs. Out of sheer habit, I went to dab my forehead but was relieved to find no oil! I didn’t apply any makeup, just the Corrective Primer, and my skin was completely matte.
I also feel good about applying this particular primer to my face, since it will combat forehead wrinkles and stop oil production. This primer doesn’t just stop working when you take it off, it acts as a skincare item, so you feel good about putting it on your skin.
