Chanel’s Fall 2011/ Winter 2012 Haute Couture Collection at the Place Vendome in Paris used the ideas of night and flashlight shoes to inspire the veil (a burglar effect).
Creative Director Peter Philips was inspired by the idea of a masculine/feminine silhouette, and he wanted the focus to be on the eyes but through a veil. Oh, how mysterious! “I wanted to create an eye that would read through a veil, that’s why I used “Illusion d’Ombre in Mirifique“, a pitch black (shadow) with starlight sparkles” from the Fall 2011 collection. The idea is that the eyes see in the dark and nails are the shade of night. The lips have a soft touch of “Rouge Allure Velvet – La Furtive”, perfect for stealing kisses.”
To get the look, he kept the skin pure and prepped it with Hydramax + Active Nourishing Cream, followed by Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15, and a Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder.
The lips were draped with Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Furtive (Exclusive to Asia), a shade of velvet peach. The nails wear Chanel’s classic “Le Vernis – Blue Satin“, a timeless night blue. He also used the Waterproof Eyes Long Lasting Eyeliner in Ebene and the Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir.
The cheeks were dusted with Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin from the Fall 2011 Collection.
