The Grammy’s were HOT this year. From the red carpet to the performances, it was quite a show! Of course, we had our eyes on the hair, makeup, and nails so that we could bring you the best of the night. Check out our favorites below and some step-by-step guides on how to get the looks at home.
Singer Tori Kelly went for a modern interpretation of old Hollywood style. Celebrity hairstylist Nikki Providence was inspired by Kelly’s one shoulder green dress. “I wanted to let her natural texture shine through a classic pincurl set,” she said.
Get The Look:
- Nikki started with clean wet hair, and prepped the roots with John Frieda Frizz Ease Curl Reviver Mousse and sprayed 12 sprays of the John Frieda Frizz Ease Go Curlier Heat-Activated Spray throughout the hair.
- Then she used a wide-tooth comb to shape the front and sides into sculpted waves, clipping each section into position.
- She twisted the remainder of the hair in 2-inch sections and dried her with a diffuser before taking the clips out.
- Nikki used her hands to smooth and sculpt the final shape, applying a thin coat of John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Crème on her hands to make sure her fingers glided over the hair for a final touch of smoothness.
- Then she used a 3/4 inch curling iron to touch up any areas that needed extra hold or curl.
- She finished off the look with John Frieda Frizz Ease KeraFLEX Flexible Hold Hairspray.
Selena Gomez wore beautiful loose curls as well on the red carpet.
Bob hairstyles are it! Selena’s BFF Taylor Swift opted for a short bob. And we spotted Carrie Underwood with a sexy bob too. But we were loving the blonde tipped styles worn by Adele and Kaley Cuoco. We see a spring trend on the horizon..
Bella Hadid was rocking the red carpet at the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards on the arm of nominee, The Weeknd. Dove Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend is responsible for her gorgeous hairstyle.

“For Bella Hadid’s Grammy Awards look, we knew we wanted to go chic and sleek. We decided to keep her hair off of her face, and go for a bone straight moment with tons of shine.
I started by applying NEW Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum-in-Oil to her damp hair to nourish strands and seal the cuticle.
I then blew her out straight using my ghd air™ hair dryer.
Once the hair was fully dry, I went through section by section with a comb and straightened it using my ghd platinum™ styler. This amazing flat iron features ghd’s tri-zone™ technology which allows me to style hair at the optimal temperature of 365 degrees while also providing shine. I worked in small sections to straighten each strand and lock-in the shine.
Once her hair was sleek and straight, I concentrated on her hairline. I perfected her center part with a rat tail comb, then went through with a mascara wand coated in Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray to brush down her baby hairs and ensure the look was flyaway free.
I then coated another mascara wand in Oribe Rock Hard Gel, and gently brushed each section of hair down so that it laid perfectly. The end result is sexy and sleek with tons of shine!”
Seeing Ciara on the red carpet makes me want to run to the gym right now. She slayed in that gown! Not only is her body amazing, but her hair and makeup were absolutely flawless.
Chrissy Tiegen showed off her adorable baby bumb and had a radiant glow. Her look was created by Mary Phillips for Kiehl’s Since 1851.
“Her white dress with the crystal and beading detailing is so beautiful. The lines are very clean on it, and the details are powerful but sort of precious at the same time, so we didn’t want the makeup to compete with that, we wanted the makeup to play into those vibes. Something bold, but still soft; color pops but in a neutralized palette that look so good with her skin tone, eye color, and hair color. Warm bronzes and heated dessert tones just make all of those natural colors a bit more lifted and 3-D.”
Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque
Typically I wouldn’t do a mask like this the day of, but when I tested it out myself, I was super impressed, I liked all the “stages” it goes through – Super thick, gentle and cooling, then it really heats up in a warm way that draws blood to the surface for an added glow, and when you take it off, it acts as a gentle exfoliator. I didn’t put it ALL over, just on the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin.
Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate
Anything that sinks into the skin right away, that’s extremely nourishing and doesn’t have a strong or offensive scent – I’m down! It has a relaxing, almost aromatherapy scent that I love – Like a spa. The consistency is so thin, that you can put it everywhere and it doesn’t leave a greasy aftermath.
I thought it would feel heavier on the skin because of its consistency, but it absorbed almost right away and really sealed in the concentrate. It creates a really great base that didn’t interrupt the makeup, it enhanced it.
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
I love this eye cream. Gently pat it on the orbital bone of your eye area is really starts to melt in. Fine lines are greatly reduced because of its rich it texture. I like to pat on eye cream with my ring finger, you want to be extra sensitive when applying anything to the eye, and this is safe enough that you can apply to the top and bottom lid and well as the sides along the temple.
When it comes to makeup, I feel like we always hear about skincare, which is hugely important, obviously. But you can’t wear a great lipstick, lip stain, lip gloss – anything —- Without the proper lip care! Scaly dry lips are not cute, and will only be exacerbated by any makeup products. I like to layer something like this on, very thick, even outside the lip line, and just let the lips drink it up. Right before I apply anything to the lip, I have the client wipe it off with either a dry wash cloth, or a warm wet one – It depends on your personal preference. It acts as almost an exfoliant and wipes away the product to reveal fresh even textured baby lips.
As a new COVERGIRL, Zendaya did her own makeup for the show! She gives us her own recap below:
“The GRAMMYS is a fun award show and a bit edgier than my last red carpet event, so my amazing stylist, Law Roach and I decided to try a whole new approach. Together we picked out this awesome menswear inspired suit and decided I would keep my makeup a bit more natural to balance out my look.
For the eyes, I wanted to keep the look soft, but with major lashes! I am a huge eyeshadow fan and currently loving truNAKED Eyeshadow Palettes because they are really pigmented and are so versatile. Today I used the Nudes palette and I love that no matter the look you are trying to achieve, these palettes offer a variety of colors and textures for a flawless look. I even used the lighter shade within the palette as a highlighter on my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and on the cupids bow. I’ve always been a fan of drugstore makeup and I swear these palettes work just as good as the expensive ones. To define my eyes, I lined my upper lid with Intensify Me! Liquid Liner in Intense Black and finished with Plumpify Mascara. This mascara gives loads of volume by lifting the lashes from the root, making them stand out more. I always finish any look by grooming my brows – it’s key!
Once my eyes are done, I apply foundation to clean up any mistakes or eyeshadow that sprinkled on my face. I started by applying foundation at the center of my face and worked my way out. Today I used truBlend Liquid Makeup in Caramel Beige, then warmed up my skin with truBLEND bronzer and added a pop of color with truBLEND blush. The end look is flawless, yet my skin shines through and I don’t feel overly made up.
Now, no look of mine is ever complete without a touch of color on the lips – tonight I used Colorlicious Oh Sugar! In Caramel. I love that these lip balms help to keep the lips hydrated while still providing a light wash of color. For a final touch, I added a swipe of Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams in Caramel Cream, topped with a dab of Queen Collection Colorlicious Gloss in Premier Pink to complete the look.”
Lady Gaga never disappoints with her red carpet looks. And last night was no exception. Her fiery red hair was the ultimate show stopper! And check out her fabulous eye makeup.
Singer Ellie Goulding, was nominated for “Best Pop Solo Performance” for her song “Love Me Like You Do,” which appeared on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. “Ellie was going to wear a beautiful blush dress by Stella McCartney that was really very simple – it was backless and had a spider web of Swarovski crystals. Deborah Lippmann Love Me Tender was almost the exact match, and the perfect choice to offset the full, messy, super sexy hair and really soft and elegant makeup with a slightly darker pink lip, almost a light berry color. For the Grammys, we also went for a long, almond shape, which is more appropriate for this crowd,” Lippmann states.
Deborah used her deborah lippmann Love Me Tender ($24, exclusive on Barneys.com) for Ellie’s fingers and toes.
