Makeup Review: Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation - Best On The Market?

I came of age in the Goth, heavy coverage, dual-finish powder era. Back in 1992, we didn’t know any better. These days, I prefer not to look like a pasty piece of chalk. Things have improved since the days of yore. Make Up For Ever has gotten the texture and coverage of their Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation ($36.00) down PERFECTLY!

Few things that are different from this powder from others: In the old days, if you applied dry, you would get a sheer finish, and if you wet a sponge, you would get a fuller coverage. I so wanted the fuller coverage, but I loathed the drying and wearing process. I felt like I had a latex cast over my face. Not very comfortable, and not very natural looking.

This powder foundation breaks the mold, as it is the most breathable, most skin-like powder on the market! I was also happy to hear that this formulation contains less talc than most powder foundations. Less talc means more natural looking skin!

Another point of difference with this foundation is that if you apply with a Kabuki brush or sponge, you get full coverage (yet it still looks natural), and if you wet the sponge, you will get a more sheer, satin-type coverage.

Ingredients which are responsible for this amazing formula are:

Vegetal Lecithin – this is a coating which wraps around each pigment to transform the texture so it stays on the skin longer.

Silica and Sericite Powder – this dynamic duo delivers a light-reflecting, soft focus effect

Ximenia and Aloe Vera Powder – add comfort and nourishment

This powder is all-around AWESOME! If you love full coverage, yet hate the heavy feel, this is the powder for you. And with twenty-five shades, you will definitely find the correct shade for you!

Might I also mention that this powder is mineral oil-, paraben- and fragrance-free? Available at Sephora.com and Make Up For Ever boutiques in February 2013.
