Makeup Review, Swatches: Anastasia Holiday 2012 Want You To Want Me Eyeshadow, Liner, Brow Palette

Maybe I am old-school, but I remember Anastasia‘s rise to fame was due to her perfect brow shaping techniques years ago, so I was delighted to see the brand expanding into different, but plausible, directions. As I have said before, I love holiday palettes — and the rose-gold accents on this particular one had me enticed enough to sample it. I do think packaging plays a part in what consumers buy and I thought this packaging, although a bit kitschy, was really festive! It’s actually a nod to the glam and decadence of the 70’s.

The Want You To Want Me Eyeshadow Palette ($34.00) is styled like a clutch and features a removable eyeshadow palette. Nine long-wearing eyeshadows create a range of looks from neutral to dramatic and intense. The colors are labeled on the inside portion of the packaging and are Platform Wedge, Front Row Center, Ziggy, Members Only, Power Ballad, Jellies, Graphic T’s, Brass In Pocket and Iron On (sampled as seen in palette). Now you get it. Total 70’s glam! The names say it all!

I liked the variety of colors, and also liked that I could wear most of them for my day look and add a bit of the richer, more intense colors for night. They can also be worn wet for a more dramatic look overall. With the set, you get a dual-sided eyeshadow brush, a jet-black liquid eye liner and a mini clear brow gel that sets brows in place all day and night.

Key ingredients such as diamond core powder diffuses light for a soft focus effect, while Youthful Synergy ™ Complex (anti-aging patented ingredients) was used in the shimmery shades. Powerful antioxidants of vitamins A, B, C, E and F were also infused into the formulations. Kudos to Anastasia for making her brand move into all beauty-full directions…
