With a tag line “So bright, it’s illegal”, Lime Crime makeup has drawn the attention of makeup lovers worldwide. Often used by makeup artists because of the intense pigmented colors, it is truly making a name for itself.
Founder Doe Deere, a makeup artist and model, couldn’t find makeup that she felt was “bright enough” and therefore created Lime Crime in 2008. She has described her customer as “artistically inclined, having a love of all things unorthodox…someone who loves bright colors and expresses herself fearlessly.” With its increasing popularity, the line now boasts fans such as Katy Perry.
With rainbows and unicorns on the labels, you can’t help but smile. Lime Crime’s Magic Dust eye shadows come in small pots filled with its popular loose powder. One of the bestsellers is Magic Dust’s Circus Girl, a dramatic lemon colored yellow. There are 23 of these technicolor shades to choose from. The formula is highly saturated in color and promises not to cake on your lids or streak. Also easily blendable, each can be worn alone or layered for a more dramatic look.
Recently launched is the Candyfuture collection of lipsticks in ten highly pigmented and super bright shades. If the hot pink packaging and glittery unicorn isn’t enough to stop you in your tracks, the wildly bold shades under the cap definitely will!
Colors range from vibrant purple (“D’Lilac”), to bright blue (“No She Didn’t”), and a shocking black (“Stiletto”). If purple lipstick isn’t your style, there are lots of other shades that will suit you. How about a classic deep red and a lovely pale pink? When applied the lipstick leaves an opaque finish, not at all sheer.
Lime Crime has successfully filled the niche for makeup wearers who aren’t afraid to be a little bold and a little daring. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart!
