Designer: Erickson Beamon
Makeup: Chantal Miller for MAC
Nails: Nonie Creme for Butter London
Hair: Phyto for Beauty.com
The Look: Tropical Plumage
Out of all the shows I’ve seen during Fashion Week, the Erickson Beamon Presentation was one that completely took my breath away. The colors of the makeup were as vivid as jungle parrots, the hair and costumes were straight from Black Swan and the set resembled a bejeweled jungle.
Nikki, lead hair stylist for Phyto and Beauty.com says ,”the hair was basically dirty (full of product and texture) for the show,” and the idea was a lot of texture. She used Phyto Mousse to get started and that the edges are really clean and neat, “and then I put a rubber band and I used Phyto Paste to give it more texture” after which she put it up in a loose bun with pins.
As for the outrageous makeup, the lead artist Chantal Miller says, “This is Erickson Beamon, we’re using every color M.A.C. makes,” joked lead makeup artist “it’s along the lines of Posh Paradise, but because this is such a theatrical production we’re actually using M.A.C. Pro Products like Paint Stick, Glitter…the big guns. We have to shine as brightly as they do.”
Nonie Creme for Butter London says she created them for the show. “It’s just color pops,” she says, “and it is very tropical. The story on the set is beacause it’s a super theatrical brand, and they’re all going to be dancing so the nails are decorated to look like birds because the theme is an enchanted garden. We knew we wanted to do something super super bright, something like a Bird of Paradise, Secret Garden feeling.” Some of the Butter London creations really have legs for summer 2012, and Nonie is pretty much sold on the Fuschia and Blue shades for Spring Summer 2012…so here’s your first peek into the Butter London shades for next year, ladies, since “every single color is borne backstage,” says Creme!
