First things first, as long as I can remember I can tell you that I don’t normally go to the MAC counters for their natural, earthy tones. I usually shop for their pop of pigments and exciting colorful looking palettes like the recent StyleDriven collection.
Then the new Limited Edition “Naturally” Collection comes a long and I am in a tail spin. The palette is earth tones to make the look quiet and subdued. No aqua, fuchsia or citrine here. All are “natural” tones and in understated hues .
There are five Mineralize Eyeshadows to choose from and I swatched both Cloudy Afternoon (cream with gold, grey and pink veining) and Twilight Falls (cool brown tones with bonze veining) .
These mineralize eyeshadows are baked minerals that are refined into a powder like formula and are lightweight upon first application. You can also layer them for a heaver look if you choose to. They are $ 20.00 each and are available at MAC counters as well as online at www.maccosmetics.com.
There are also four lipsticks and four tinted lip glasses available in this collection.
I swatched A Perfect Day and Beach Sand Lipstick and Hot Spell and Naked Space Lip Glasses.
The lipsticks are rich and creamy like in texture and the glasses have a beautiful sheen and also pack in the pigment.
Hot Spell had a real brownish hue to it and certainly can be a statement color if you apply it as the focus of your face. These are $ 14.50 each and are available at MAC counters as online at www.maccosmetics.com .
The Mineralize Skinfinish for $ 26.00 is a high frost powder is available in Blonde and Redhead and I swatched Blonde which seemed quite apropos for me as I am one.
There is a wonderful warmth to this color like your skin was naturally sun kissed.
“Naturally” is a limited edition collection that also includes eye pencils, mascara, blush and two new brushes. So what do you think of this collection? Will you be hauling this home? Post a comment below to let us know.
