This weekend I decided to use the new duo to combat my dry curls. As seen below, that was Day 3 and my natural hair was looking a bit frizzy, and in need of some attention. I should also mention my brand of curl is a 4A.
As you can see here, there is a need for moisture! I was offered the opportunity to try Mizani Supreme Oil Sulfate Free Moisturizing Shampoo ($10.00-$20.00) and Supreme Oil Ultra-Light Conditioner ($10.00-$20.00). The Supreme Oil line is infused with eight penetrating oils including jojoba, avocado oil and olive oil.
Mizani Supreme Oil Sulfate Free Moisturizing Shampoo is sulfate-free and promises conditioning cleansing. What I did was section my hair in twists and washed the scalp, then rinsed the shampoo through my hair. Next, I raked the light-but-moisturizing Supreme Oil Ultra-Light Conditioner through my hair sections.
Before
After
It has a nice amount of slip and kept my hair detangled as I work the conditioner through, starting at the ends and spritzing with water for it to glide through.
After leaving it in for an hour without heat, I rinsed and added Carols Daughter Tui Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner ($14.00), sectioned and retwisted my hair, then air-dried — sealing it with Mizani Supreme Oil ($10.00-$20.00) to lock in moisture and dry a bit faster.
The results were soft curls with really solid definition. Here is just a look at my bangs after air-drying (above). I’m sure if I used a hooded dryer the look would have been a bit smoother. But in an effort to use less heat, I air-dried. Overall, the system works well on natural hair. Would I use it again? Definitely!
