We broke the news to you ages ago about Lancôme’s new blockbuster mascara, Hypnôse Doll Mascara, but wanted to show you why we’ve been obsessed with this new wand, and why it’s one of our most favorite mascaras in our beauty cabinet.
Trust me, the idea of having my lashes resemble a doll’s did not appeal –I like mine long, thick and natural. Lancôme says it is the flirtiest mascara it has created, and the secret is its unique, cone-shaped brush that promises the lashes a clean, smooth application including the hard to reach lower lashes (remember Clinique has a mascara just for those lower lashes).
The promise is a completely coated shiny lash fringe. $25 is not a lot to spend on a really good mascara, but when there are decent drugstore options out there, I had to see if this was worth the price.
The verdict? Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Mascara does give you doll-like lashes, and they do become shiny. There’s more of a lengthening effect than a plumping effect, so if you want volume, this is not the mascara for you. But if you’re going for definition, shine and length, then yes –I’d give this two thumbs up.
