Since I have been home recovering from my broken ankle, I have taken up a new hobby: I am interested in all-natural, homeopathic remedies to heal what ails you. Anything natural to heal pain or clean the body, well, Wei Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask ($42.00) falls right into that category.
Wei Young Brian is a doctor from China who grew up watching her mother concoct many herbal remedies in their own home. She went on to study herbal medicine in her native China and studied under two of China’s most revered doctors in the country. Thus, her mission is to bring what she has learned and deliver a cosmetic line that is steeped in traditional beliefs.
Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask comes with 8 individual mask pods, so nothing gets wasted or contaminated. It also comes with a nice brush to apply neatly on the face. The mask itself resembles chocolate pudding and applied easily (as you can see from my photo).
The mask claims to:
– Penetrate the skin’s micro-energy channels to neutralize free radicals and toxins
– Pure China Clay to absorb toxins, dirt and remove dead cells
– Deeply cleans without drying the skin
A point of difference from other clay masks was that this mask did not dry to a hard, uncomfortable finish. It lived up to its claim that it didn’t dry-out the skin. I was also pleased with how easily it washed off my face.
As I mentioned before, I have been incapacitated for the last few weeks, and have not been able to do my usual cleansing routine. I was surprised at how well my skin looked afterwards. I was able to easily remove stubborn blackheads on my cheeks and nose.
Overall, I really liked this mask and would love to see what else Wei Young Brian has up her sleeve.
