Review, Ingredients: Olay Pro X Even Skin Tone Correcting Protocol: Night Cream, Spot Fading Treatment

This new Pro-X Even Skin Tone Correcting Protocol ($41.50) trio from Olay is said to be at the forefront of skin brightening technology, with scientifically designed treatments that target the source of skin discoloration. Olay’s team of dermatologists and genomics experts created the Pro-X Even Skin Tone Correcting Protocol to treat uneven skintone with the aim of “visibly restoring skin to a brighter, even-toned radiance.”

There are three components that are meant to be used together as part of the overall regime:

• Anti-Oxidant Sunscreen/Sheer Daily Moisturizer
• Spot Fading Treatment
• Brightening Renewal Cream

I used all three for about a month. The anti-oxidant sunscreen was a tad sticky, but since it had an SPF of 35, I did not mind that so much; I’m more concerned with sun protection, so if I have to deal with a bit of stickiness, I will. It also provided a good base for foundation, blush etc.

Ingredients:

Phlorogine — an antioxidant that helps fight free radical damage
Niacinamide — helps accelerate skin’s natural surface turnover
NetDG — helps maintain skin’s optimal barrier function
N-Acetyl Glucosamine — hydrates and helps reduce appearance of dark spots
Sepiwhite — helps fade the appearance of dark spots and discoloration

The night cream was lovely — very smooth and easily absorbed. And the Spot Fading Treatment was concentrated and easily applied to the skin with the dropper.

After one month, I could see a subtle but visible difference in my overall skintone. I just looked a bit fresher and more rested. The results were not dramatic, but they were good enough to keep in my arsenal, especially at such a wallet-friendly price.

Perhaps the least effective product was the Spot Fading Treatment, which I used on a couple of places where I have some sun damage; I did not notice any real difference there, but, maybe if I keep using it, results will improve. I am certainly willing to try!
