I’ll try anything to get rid of my acne scars! Anything! So, when I heard about the multiple benefits of using snail slime, I was on board right away. That’s right, filtrated snail mucin is said to heal acne scars, get rid of wrinkles and provide adequate moisturizing benefits.
The snail’s slime itself has actual healing factors. According to Daily Mail, snail slime — or, technically, helix aspersa müller glycoconjugates — is a complex mix of proteins, glycolic acids and elastin that nature developed as a way to protect snail skin from damage of rocks, twigs and other rough surfaces; infection, and UV rays. Even Katie Holmes is a fan of snail slime!
When it comes to which snail cream to use, my favorite has to be from The Skin Shop — a Korean-based cosmetic and skincare company that prides itself in using natural and effective ingredients. Today, I am very excited to also be sharing with you their latest product: Iris Color Control CC Cream.
The Skin Shop’s Premium Secret Snail Vital Mucin Cream (S$64.90/US $52.00) is made of 90% snail slime filtrate. It is both moisturizing and light in texture. It won’t clog pores and in about one week you will see your acne scars (or any type of facial scars for that matter) begin to lighten.
This cream works wonders! I experienced no irritation. Ingredients such as fine mushroom extract helps reinforce the skin’s layers; Palboseunggi Herbal Complex and guava extracts inhibit the skin from deteriorating. I apply it at night and then dab on some more to the areas on my face that are experiencing some hyperpigmentation. It feels a little sticky at first, but soaks right in.
The Skin Shop has released its own CC cream. The Iris Color Control CC Cream SPF 37 PA +++ (S$44.90/US $36.00) is a multifunctional skin cover balm that provides natural skin color control. I found it to have the same consistency as a BB cream, but, it still holds true to the CC creams claim of having a lighter texture.
It also gives full coverage, which is rare for a CC cream! It concealed all of my scarring without leaving a cakey finish. This CC cream will definitely work for lighter skintones. (Don’t be put off by the grayish undertones, it will eventually match your unique coloring.) It also controls sebum throughout the day — I rarely needed to blot my face, which is and added bonus for me.
Benefits of Iris CC Cream:
• Contains porous powder that keeps clean oil-less and silky skin with controlling sebum effectively
• Contains hyaluronic acid that presents soft and smooth skintone with enhanced moisture
• Whitening, anti-wrinkle, UV Protection benefits
Key Ingredients: portulacae herba extract, ecucalyptus extract, papaya extract, honey extract and wheat extract
