The product has the basic shape of a hair dryer. It’s basically a curling wand set up in the shape of a hair dryer. I was intrigued to see the difference between this and a traditional curling wand/iron. The product claims to alleviate stress on your wrist and shoulder. Naturally, as with any new styling tool you try, it does take a bit of getting used to but overall, I do think this is an easier way to style your hair in comparison to the traditional curling wand style and definitely reduces stress on your muscles and joints due to the shape.
The box the product arrives in says that you should use the different barrels for the following styles:
- 3/4″ for structured spirals, vintage curls
- 1″ for full, defined curls
- 1 1/4″ for medium, loose waves and tousled curls
- 1 1/2″ for large, loose curls and beachy waves
I have very long, thick hair, so it does tend to take me a while to curl it. This is probably why I don’t curl it very often. I did find this product cut the curling time down quite a bit. I also didn’t have to slant the bar a bunch of different ways to try to navigate the different areas of my hair, thanks to the nifty design of the barrel.
Using the 1 1/4″ barrel gave me gorgeous medium sized loose curls and it didn’t take me very long to achieve this look! I consider myself a novice when it comes to hair styling. I’m not the best at it. I usually just straighten my hair because it’s the easiest. However, I really enjoy this product and because it’s quick and simple to use, I think I’ll find myself curling my hair more often.
I would also highly recommend the 1″ CurlBar or the CurlBar Set as a present for the holidays. It would be the perfect gift for someone who is into hair products, whether they are a stylist or not. It truly makes curling your hair a super easy and fast task. Another bonus is the optional timer that the product has. This way you know when to remove the hair from the barrel without worrying about keeping heat on any one section of the hair for too long! (Or, a gift for yourself of course!) The product is constructed extremely well and built to last. Plus, the 3-year warranty really seals the deal! These products definitely get the Beauty Stat stamp of approval!
