For those of us who hate bleeding, feathering and everything else that accompanies the lip line area, Make Up For Ever has an antidote.
The Colorless Anti Feathering Lip Pencil is a Lip Line Perfector: you draw an invisible contour around your lips (using the same technique as though you would use using a regular lip liner) but because of its properties and the ingredients (beeswax, ceramide, elastomer of silicone, and high molecular hyaluronic salt), the lipstick does not bleed through the lip contour and get messy.
Does it work? Well, yes and no. Here is a before/after using the Anti-Feathering Lip Pencil:
Before
After
I’m using Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artiste Intense lipstick in this picture in Pearly Orange Pink, but very very lightly. Instead of using it only around the lips, I used it all over my lips to see if it would prevent feathering, and I have to say I love the texture because it kept the lipstick in place, and also moisturized the lips (the texture of the lips is less dry, more creamy).
With repeated use, I can see this Lip Pencil becoming a mainstay in my lipstick routine. Beeswax is a standard ingredient in some companies’ products (e.g. Burt’s Bees), and some home remedies for chapped lips include coconut oil and a beeswax mixture. So, unless you have allergic reactions to this ingredient this product should sit well with you.
The pencil glides on gently and does not sting. Use a sharpener to keep the point relatively sharp (not too sharp). Make Up For Ever is not the first brand to think of this anti feathering pencil (there’s another one from Too Faced) but I haven’t tried any of those, so it’s hard for me to comment.
This is available for $18 at Sephora. To read about Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Liners, click here.
Now, I’m curious. Do you all use a lip liner? Would you go for this colorless lip liner? Drop me a comment below.
