I first got introduced to this company started by Gail Federici and John Frieda — who revolutionized the haircare market with Frizz-Ease and Sheer Blonde via the first sample box I received from Beauty Army. I then fell for the myface cosmetic’s Blingtone Eyeshadows ($20.00) and before I knew it, owned them all! Any makeup artist or friend learning about makeup I ran into would ask, “Love what you are wearing, Urban Decay?” or “Are those glitters on your eyes wet or dry?” and I would always answer “myface” to which I would get an awkward stare.
I still haven’t a real insiders clue as to why they have not blown up as they were founded by such talent, with the great Kabuki as their artistic director. Kabuki: the master who created the looks for Katy Perry’s “E.T.” video, NYFW The Blonds show and so much more. I have seen them most recently in the press due to Gwyneth Paltrow who had been wearing their foundation. There is so much to see on the site as well because you are able to look at the shadows on eyes when you hit “try it on” — giving you an idea of what you are buying. They have concealers, blingtone shadows, mascara, liners and more.
Just recently, I was sent the Blingtone Eyeshadow in Raspberry Beret (yes, a few colors are named after Prince songs!), the Lil’ Bling Chrome Nail Polish ($12.00) that matches the shadow, Sl”ink”y Liquid Liner ($18.00) in Black Ice, mymix Foundation ($34.00) in Fair and the new Italian Ice Eye Art ($22.00) in Amalfi. I have personally tweeted, FB’d and told so many others of this line because I am a big fan of theirs! Their Blingtone line especially, as I love mixing the glittery shades and they never seem too much for daywear.
Now I had the pleasure of sampling their new Italian Ice Eye Art and love this, too! It wears beautifully and has a natural highlight color within the two color options. I did add a bit of my own myface cosmetics Blingtone color in Diamonds & Pearls along my brow bone for an extra dose of sparkle. As you can see, it still does not scream and it’s up to the user to layer and create new colors or just wear one, wear it more opaque for a nighttime look, etc. It all depends on how you mix the colors and how heavy they are applied. So, when I received their lovely gift box, I also received an offer code for you, our readers: good for a FREE Eyeshadow Duo! Your Beautystat personal code is: BLOGDUO1. Right now they are running a 25% off code until August 20th plus FREE shipping over any $25.00 purchase. Please go to www.myfacecosmetics.com to explore the entire line. Quite often they have specials and you can also follow them on twitter @myfaceusa.
