Cover Girl Lid Lock Up Eyeshadow Primer gives you all-day, crease-proof shadow security. Prep your lids to maximize the wear and intensity of your shadow. This quick-to-dry eyeshadow primer pairs perfectly with the TruNaked eyeshadow palettes, according to Cover Girl.
I love the idea that this product is packaged with a doe foot applicator. It makes it easy to dip into the product, dab a little on your lids, and move along. The formula of this is really nice. It’s not like other eyeshadow primers that I’ve tried where you rub it in and it almost feels as if you’ve added nothing. This primer leaves behind a fairly tacky base, which is perfect for grabbing onto the eyeshadows you’re about to apply. I even think it would fair somewhat nice as a glitter primer, though I haven’t tested it out that way. (It has a similar texture to the NYX Glitter Primer, in my opinion). Definitely a product that is effective, and for the price, you can’t beat it!
Cover Girl Look Lock Up Setting Spray | $11.99
Say sayonara to smudges with the Cover Girl Look Lock Up Setting Spray. It’s designed with a microfine mist for a weightless, barely there feel. This setting spray prevents makeup from smudging or settling into fine lines. The best thing is, it’s suitable for sensitive skin and is dermatologically tested!
The first thing I noticed about this product when I applied it was the amazing scent. It smells almost cucumber-like, reminds me of a spa, and is very fresh. The nozzle on the spray bottle is perfect and releases a very fine mist, instead of globs of setting spray like some other bottles do. I found this to really help keep my makeup in place all day. It definitely helped keep my oils at bay. It’s not per se a matte setting spray, or a dewy setting spray. I would say it has a natural finish and just gives the skin a fresh look.
TruBlend Matte Made’s formula is developed with flexi-hold technology that creates a strong yet flexible film on the skin for durability and comfort. Its mattifying powders absorb oil and minimize the pores for a soft matte, flawless finish. This foundation claims to give you up to 12 hours of wear. It also claims that it is transfer resistant. AND – it comes in 40 shades! That’s absolutely amazing for a drugstore foundation. I am so glad to see that they released such an inclusive range.
This foundation is a little on the thicker side, but I wouldn’t say that it is mousse-like in texture. It is still very much a liquid foundation. It isn’t drying or cakey on the skin, despite the matte finish (which I love). It sets in nicely, and wears great throughout the day. I also dig the fact that the foundation has a pump (thank you!). Matte foundations are definitely my favorite, largely because I have oily skin. If you have dry skin, I’m not sure how this would work for you but because it’s so affordable, I would definitely recommend at least giving it a dry! I do have oily skin with a dry patch here or there, and the formula of this foundation did not grab or accentuate any dryness.
