Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Makeup Palette Swatches and Inspiration

As a kid, the film Alice in Wonderland was more than an inspiration to me. I watched it repeatedly and fell in love with Alice, The Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and the Queen to such an extent that they played over and over in my head like a broken record. Jabberwocky was one of my all time favorite poems (originally composed by Lewis Carroll as a part of his novel Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There and is considered one of the greatest nonsense poems of all time).

The box’s illustrations is pop up style, just like a children’s picture book. It transported me decades to when I was in high school, loving my coloring pencils and reading pop up books like it was going out of style. This is one ingenious idea on the part of Urban Decay– to bring out the kid in you as adults reach for their version of the “coloring pencil” (in this case, it’s your paintbrush and eyeshadows, of course).

So when Urban Decay said they were coming out with the “Book of Shadows” version for Alice in Wonderland, my heart too did a Jabberwocky.

Urban Decay Book of Shadows

The set comes with 16 shadows, two complimentary 24/7 Glide On Eye pencils and one bottle of eyeshadow primer. Ready, get set play!! Here are some of my most favorite shades.

Underland: is a purple shade that reminds me of the shade of eggplant. It is a more intense purple than UD’s Retrograde and #54.

Alice: a turquoise, oceanic blue. It is almost exactly the color of UD’s Atmosphere eyeshadow.

White Rabbit: a gorgeous, iridescent white powder that sparkles.

Wonderland: this marvelous, faint coppery color is one of my favorites and is a touch lighter than UD’s Diamond Dog.

Wonderland

Curioser: a lovely, sheer pinkish shade, this resembles a paler version of UD’s Deluxe Eyeshadow in Hot Pink.

Muchness: a dusky pink that’s super sexy and sultry.

Mushroom: one of my favorite shades that resembles a coppery brown.
