WALTER’s Spring/ Summer 2010 showcased makeup done by Stila Cosmetics, and the highlight was all about the smokey eye, and the 80s and modernization of it all.
Nancy Morena for Stila Cosmetics says, “We used an eyeshadow in espresso, and an onyx kajal shadow liner, and the smudge pot in Black..we didn’t use too much foundation so to make the skin look like its just worn by the model.” The skin wore a tinted moisturizer for that dewy look. Morena used shimmer all over the cheekbone and Rose Illumination powder. The lips were a “caramely nude” and used Traci lip color and praliner lip glaze.
The models wore lots of mascara (think 80s). I also ran into CEO Lynn Tilton backstage who told me how much she loves the new shades of the Stila Smudgepots (Black Cat, anyone?).
The hair was done by Toni & Guy who went all out on an elegant version of the ’80s. “The mood of the ’80s was created by a french braid and then pushing the hair off to the side with curls, and then using a dry finish to give it a more matte look. They used TIGI’s Rockaholic’s Dirty Secret and Rockaholic’s Fun Times to finish.
