Most women dread the dimply patches of cellulite on their legs, stomach or arms… especially during the summer months when our skin is more exposed. But don’t worry, there is something you can do about it. Genetics play a part, but so do the foods that you eat. Dr. David E. Bank, a leading dermatologist based in NY, says that cellulite can be…

“genetically related, in that it’s due to gender, race, slow metabolism, distribution of fat, and circulatory insufficiency. There are also hormonal factors, such as estrogen levels, degrees of insulin, issues with thyroid hormones, and prolactin cell[s] can contribute to the production process of cellulite production.”

He also states that cellulite can form as a result of diet and lifestyle choices and “the unfortunate result of simply aging.”

New York Times best-selling author of The Beauty Detox Foods and celebrity nutritionist Kimberly Snyder shares some top beauty foods that help reduce cellulite and get you ready for those short shorts and bikinis!

Oat groats are the most natural, unprocessed form of oats. They are soluble and insoluble fiber, making them quite filling; they also don’t spike your blood sugar the way refined carbs and sugars do. A recent study showed that the consumption of whole grains like oat groats contributes to metabolic alterations that can reduce weight gain and therefore reduce cellulite.

  2. Those are three things I haven’t been good about getting into my diet. I will remember this, and try harder.
