Here at BeautyStat, we’re pretty excited about Halloween! An excuse to dress up as someone completely different and wear over-the-top makeup and accessories? Count us in! After Wigs.com sent us some Halloween costume ideas with their latest LUXHAIR wig collection, we wanted to create some looks of our own using the new LUXHAIR line! Read on to see what senior editors Nicole Gordon Levine, Erin Sutera and managing editor Theresa Romano come up with in this three part Get The Look Halloween Series.
I have a not-so-secret confession to make: I just love me some Real Housewives of New Jersey! So, how could I pass up on the chance of transforming myself into my favorite table-flipping, Fabellini-sipping Housewife of them all, Teresa Giudice. From one Tre to another, creating this look was already on my to-do list. Thankfully, I can use Halloween as an excuse.
Now, to capture your Fabulous! look, think: more is more! First off, I made sure to go at least two shades darker than my normal skin tone by trying out my Rachel K Mineral CC Pressed Powder in Deep (I could of gone maybe fifteen shades darker, no?). I then added loads of blush with my Laura Geller Blush-n-Brighten in Sunswept ($26.35), focusing on the cheeks, then making sure to contour my cheekbones. I added some Benefit High Beam ($26.00) to the high points of my face: cheekbones, brow bone and cupid’s bow to get that ultra-glam, the-disco-ball-is-reflecting-off-of-my-face, dewy look.
Teresa’s eyes are always “On Display” (I know, that’s Melissa’s song, but even Tre has been caught singing it!) with loads of mascara, dark liner and shadow. I first prepped my lids with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($20.00) and swept M·A·C ’s Eyeshadow ($15.00) in Gesso all over my lid, up to the brow bone. I then added a more shimmery white shadow over the matte white (including the inner corners of my eyes), giving it more depth.
I then took M·A·C ‘s Eyeshadow in Carbon and applied it on the outer corners of my eyes, focusing on shading and blending out any rough edges. I took any remaining shadow that was left on the brush and swept it under my lower lash line. I made sure to add lots of eyeliner by lining my waterline and applying some liquid eyeliner to the top lash line with Koji’s Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner ($13.50) in Black — I love this eyeliner, it is really dark and is so easy-to-apply with its brush-like pen applicator. To finish off the look, I applied at least four coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara ($28.00), and added a touch of glitter to get those big, beautiful Jersey eyes!
Teresa’s lips are usually nude with a ton of gloss! I lined my lips with a nude pencil using Revlon‘s Colorstay Lipliner ($6.59) and applied two different glosses: NARS Lip Gloss ($24.00) in Orgasm and M·A·C Clear Lipglass ($15.00)) to get that gloppy, plastic-y look to your lips.
To complete the look, I donned my black wig from LUXHAIR NOW in Lace Front Casual Curl ($88.95). I was really impressed with the hairline of this wig (even though I pulled mine down… intentionally!). The hair was very soft and easy to manipulate to get the curls just right. I was able to put a brush through it with no tugging. I couldn’t complete the look without it!
There you have it! Teresa Giudice! To finish the look off make sure to grab a foxy, slinky, off-the-shoulder dress with plenty of flashy jewelry and sky-high heels! We had fun creating these looks, but now, we want to hear from you!
