The year 2011 has shown us some unique hair trends, from Ombre hair coloring, and Rainbow Color Dunking to Hair Feather Extensions. In fact, we reported on the Best Celebrity Hairstyles For 2011 just last week. But not all celebrities showed us their best. In fact, some celebs seemed to have become color blind.
A repeat offender, Nicki Minaj, started her downward hair slope with her love of leopard.
Over her short yet productive career we have seen some great looks. The single color long fuchsia hair or the chic green splashed asymmetrical bob complemented that crazy personality and made us fall in love.
But this year we were shocked to see two of the worst looks on Nicki.
Although highly creative the prints seen on her hair belong on clothes not on hair.
Another offender was the fabulous Lady Gaga. As much as we all love the wackiness of Gaga this year the wacky veered towards tacky.
One of her worst color moments was when she stepped out with a purple bee hive on her head. The architecture she loves was there but the messiness and the two-tone color just did not work.
Maybe she should stick to that amazing bow.
Another big color disappointment of the year goes to Blake Lively. Always on the best hair list, she took a chance that did not work out.
The red hair took her from fashion icon to a Little Mermaid wannabe.
I think we can all be thankful she went back to her signature golden blonde.
One of the biggest disappointments of the year was Drew Barrymore.
When we posted this photo of Drew on the BeautyStat Facebook page last month asking fans what they thought, many told us that they hated this look (calling it “trashy” and “trailer park”… ouch !! and suggested that Drew should grow it out and make the color difference more subtle).
I think we all love Drew when she rocks a more sophisticated look.
2011 was a fun-filled year for celebrities. But for these ladies, their hair didn’t really speak for their talent. We can only hope they learned their lessons and look forward to the good and some bad for 2012.
