Leave it to the chemists at Kiehl’s to formulate a BB cream that stands on its own, drastically different from the rest! Two years of product development — and with the notion of providing its customers with a skintone-correcting and dark spot-eliminating BB cream — Kiehl’s is proud to introduce its Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream ($37.00).
Promising to instantly perfect skin and clinically-proven to correct one’s skintone irregularities, this BB cream provides buildable coverage with natural mineral pigments containing amino acids to give stay-true color that lasts all day. Vitamin C prevents skin damage while correcting previous damage as well, along with a heavy dose of SPF 50.
This BB cream wont clog pores; it’s fragrance-, paraben- and mineral oil-free. It wears and hydrates all day, concealing fine lines, wrinkles and pores. It does it all!
Top to Bottom: Fair and Fair/Light
According to Dr. Adam Geyer, Kiehl’s Product Development Consulting Dermatologist, Kiehl’s has done it their way by offering a BB cream with a razor-sharp focus on efficiency for not only instant coverage but also long-term corrections. Kiehl’s chemists bridged the gap between working with mineral pigments, sunscreen and Vitamin C — a water-soluble molecule which tends to separate when combined with the aforementioned ingredients. Thus, a truly unique and powerful BB cream was born!
After 4 weeks of use:
79% saw reduction in the appearance of dark spots
88% saw visibly more even skintone
85% saw diminished appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
90% saw brighter, more radiant, more luminous skin
90% felt their skin appeared healthier
Blended
Completely Blended
Available in in four shades (Fair, Fair/Light, Light and Medium), the Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream SPF 50 has a very liquid consistency — I first thought it wouldn’t perform to its “concealing” abilities (boy, was I wrong!). Just a small amount will do, so be careful not to squeeze out too much product. I sampled shades Fair and Fair/Light — both suiting my skintone while the Fair shade will act as an ideal brightener.
It blends in extremely well, and you can add as much product as you want without it looking heavy on the skin. It didn’t feel greasy either, as I wore it all day and into the early evening.
No other product on my face… just the BB!
I have to say that this is one of my favorite BB creams, even though I am loyally partial to Asian brands rather than its Western counterparts (I am a stickler for the brands that started the BB craze including L’EGERE and Skin79). Kiehl’s BB cream does not leave a grey undertone either, and you don’t have to wait for it to blend in with your coloring.
It appeared dewy on my skin. It didn’t look too wet (which people associate with being greasy — not the case here!), but left a luminous finish as you can see in the photo above.
You can see some minor pigmentation on my cheek, but I prefer to let my skin shine through. You can try all you want, but you’ll never look overdone with this BB cream. I absolutely adore it! Thank you Kiehl’s. Two years of hard work paid off!
