You no longer have to be a professional makeup artist to master the art of highlighting and contouring. This trend of sculpting the face is being seen everywhere from Youtube beauty gurus to celebrities attending red carpet events.

MAKE UP FOR EVER brings you two new Pro Sculpting Duos, $39. Pro Duo #1 is a pink beige shade for those with skin that has cool undertones and Pro Duo #2, a golden shade is best for you if you have golden undertones. This easy to use compact contains a formula with a talc-free, gel-powder allowing for a flawless application that blends seamlessly into the skin. The spherical powders and polymers smooth skin leaving a silky finish, and light-reflecting synthetic mica gives a radiant effect while the micronized pigments of pure color create a naturally defined appearance. The result is a flawless, natural look.

Here’s a tip: The Pro Sculpting Duo should be applied to areas where light is naturally reflected. Create dimension by applying the luminous highlighter to cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, and directly under the brow. Shape and define with the contour color under the cheek bone, jaw line and across the hair line. Try MAKE UP FOR EVER flat round brush #156.

MAKE UP FOR EVER has also introduced a must-have mascara to dramatically define your lashes. The Smoky Stretch Mascara, $24, is smudge-proof and fast drying because it’s formulated with Locust Tree Alginate Jelly (to define and separate lashes) and Silk Protein (to elongate and volumize lashes). The comb grabs at each individual lash allowing for maximum definition.

Here is a photo of me wearing L’Oreal Miss Manga mascara (top) and MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Smoky Stretch. (Right eyes have no mascara applied.) While I did love the wand of the Smoky Stretch, it took quite a bit of swipes to get on a good amount of coating which did cause some clumping on the lashes.

So how does it work? Mixing and matching the primers gives you skin perfection. They are divided into two skin equalizing categories: Texture and Tone with five of the primers (top row) designed to target oil, shine, large pores, fine lines, dryness, and redness. And the other five (bottom row), in the Radiance category, boost skin’s radiance and glow.

My skin tends to get dry due to the weather, so I used a combination of the Radiance and Nourishing primers. I was pleasantly surprised that my foundation in fact had a beautiful glow and glided on extremely smoothly. With the array of primers in the collection, I can’t wait to mix and match more combinations of the primers to maximize the results of my makeup application.
