Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) recognized the most innovative beauty products of the year on Friday, May 16th at the 20th Annual CEW Insiders’ Choice Beauty Awards. The award-winning products ranged across 36 categories including skincare, cosmetics, haircare, fragrance and more.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the CEW Beauty Awards is the only awards program in which the winners are determined exclusively by beauty industry professionals, CEW’s 6,000 members. The CEW Beauty Awards are the industry’s highest recognition for brands and manufacturers, and serve as a guide for consumers to the most innovative new products for the year.
“When a shopper purchases a beauty product, she is looking for performance and value,” says Carlotta Jacobson, President of CEW. “The CEW Beauty Awards seal helps consumers cut through the clutter so they can make an informed decision about the best products the industry has to offer.”
In celebration of its two decades of recognizing innovation in beauty products, CEW announced the winners of the first-ever Iconic Beauty Award, sponsored by DSM Personal Care, which recognized two products (one in mass and one in prestige) that have transcended 20 or more years in the industry.
The Iconic Beauty Award winner in the mass category is Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara, and YSL Beaute Touche Éclat is the winner in the prestige category. Also new this year, CEW presented the Most Buzzed About Beauty Award, sponsored by Yahoo!, to L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara and Estée Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Parfum, which recognizes the mass and prestige beauty products consumers are talking about online. Highlights of this year’s event include:

The 2014 CEW Beauty Awards presenting sponsor was Meredith Corporation. CEW and the Meredith Corporation partnered to reach consumers through Meredith’s multiple media platforms, which include magazines, television and digital properties. In addition to driving awareness for the awards, the partnership will align the CEW Beauty Awards with Meredith’s Beauty Center of Excellence, a consumer insights-driven beauty leadership group and content curator with its finger on the pulse of what real women want when it comes to beauty.
