With a 99.8% natural ingredients in the bottle, and being paraben free, the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate arrived at my desk with my name written all over it. They way the concentrate is supposed to be used is that you put two drops on your skin each night – and watch it glow in the morning.
The concentrate also arrives in an eco-friendly house: a recyclable glass bottle with a dropper and plastic squeeze top.
Essentially, it contains a field of essential oils: from evening primrose, lavender essential oils (this is to soothe inflamed or red and irritated skin, which is something I’ve been experiencing on a seismic level this winter), and squalane, which is a highly refined moisturizing oil derived from the olive.
The texture of the concentrate was silky and a tad bit greasy (but note, these ARE essential oils after all – you’re not going to get a matte finish here). But as soon as I put some on my face, my windburned, chapped skin felt utterly calm.
The jury is still out on how much “younger” my skin is going to get, but the truth is that the luminosity wowed me the morning after.
An ounce bottle retails for $42.
