Makeup: Hourglass Cosmetics
Key Artist: Gina Brooke (Artistic Director)
Gina Brooke, Artistic Director at Hourglass Cosmetics, created a ethereal and romantic look to compliment the super-chic wedding theme. To compliment the romantic and playful mood, Brooke kept the makeup light yet flawless with glowing, shimmery eyes and stained cheeks and lips. The motif consisted of classic beauties from the 1950s–Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly and Catherine Deneuve.
“It’s about clean, beautiful and memorable makeup—it is a wedding after all,” says Brooke. “This look is timeless, it’s never going to go out of style.”
The look began with the new Primer Serum (launching in 2012), an oil and vitamin blend to hydrate the skin and gives an even texture for foundation application. While primer is ideal for all skin types, Brooke especially recommends it for those with dry skin. “When you have dry skin, your makeup doesn’t look as beautiful because you can actually see it laying on top. Beautiful makeup starts with the skin.”
Models with oily skin used the Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation, a new product launching in 2012, which gives a matte finish, while the Illusion Tinted Moisturizer was applied on those with normal-to-dry skin. The flawless complexion was complete with the Hidden Corrective Concealer, along with a cheek stain and highlighting bronzer on the cheekbone.
The brows were untouched and the eyeshadow was blended halfway up the lid. Eyes consisted of either a blue, gold or silver shimmery shadow applied with the fingers or an all-over eye brush. The lashes were dark and sexy, using their Film Noir Mascara and finished off with the Film Noir Lash Lacquer. The Hourglass Script Liner was used to enhance the lash line without making a statement. Lips were subtle, using the Aura Sheer Lip Stain applied with the lips.
