When you play a vampire on TV, you tend to know a thing or two about contact lenses. I can’t say the same for myself, but I have been wearing contacts since middle school. So, Nina Dobrev and I are pretty much kindred spirits (we both have dark brown eyes, too!).
BeautyStat got to chat with Celebrity Stylists Ilaria Urbinati and The Vampire Diaries Actress Nina Dobrev on why they love wearing these NEW! Alcon AIR OPTIX® COLORS contact lenses. So instead of trying a new eyeshadow color this summer, why not change the color of your eyes?!
Wearing Brilliant Blue in Left Eye (your left!); Natural Brown Eyes, Right
Alcon AIR OPTIX® COLORS are the latest in monthly replacement color lenses, available in 9 colors. From subtle enhancements to bold and striking eyes, these contact lenses are designed to add a little flare to your current makeup look.
The lenses contains a unique 3-in-1 FreshLook® COLORBLENDS® Technology that effectively imitate the subtle complexity of natural iris patterns and tones. They feel amazingly smooth and comfortable with advanced surface technology that allows 6Xs more oxygen through the lens than the leading color contact lenses.
Gemstone Left Eye (your left!); Right Eye, Natural Brown
Let your eyes do the talking! Nina wore the Gemstone contact lenses to soften her look (and go with her gorgeous, new ombre hair!) as a change-up from her natural, sultry dark brown eyes. She also dished on her fave makeup item of the moment, explaining how she only needs one eye product to enhance her new eye color: Benefit They’re Real! Mascara.

Enhance your new eye color with a heated eyelash curler and apply a cat-eye for WOWZER! eyes. Find out how to add the perfect makeup shades to compliment your new eye color with advice from Nina’s own Stylist, Ilaria Urbinati:
Blue and Brilliant Blue — Wear peach, orange and brown shades. Metallic colors like a burnt orange work great with the Brilliant Blue contact lenses. A peach blush and lipstick also pair well.
Gray/Sterling Gray — Neon shades and silver tones will counteract well with this unexpected neutral eye color. Or, wear some pastel pale pink on the cheeks.
Gemstone Green/Green — Purple and burgundy hues work well with green eyes. Add some punchy red lipstick to make your whole look pop even more!
Pure Hazel/Honey — Compliment green and brown hues of hazel eyes with maroon and navy. And if you want some extra color, add some royal blue into the mix with a quick swipe of eyeliner.
Brown — A dark metallic teal eyeshadow does the trick!
AIR OPTIX® COLORS contact lenses are available only by a prescription and come in a 6 month supply. Visit airoptixcolors.com for more information.
