Smith & Cult recently launched The Shining Lip Lacquer Collection, $22 each. The lip lacquers are vegan, gluten free, paraben free and they also contain Portulaca pilosa extract, which provides moisture and volume for your lips. A natural coconut essence is added to emulsify, smooth and elongate the wear of each.
I tried out two shades from the collection: The Warning and Her Name Bubbles. Both lip lacquers have a pleasant light vanilla scent; not overpowering at all. The Warning, is described on the site as a sheer cardinal and gold micro shimmer. It’s a great shade to use if you would like to try a red lipstick but are scared to wear too bold of a lip color.
Below, I am wearing The Warning on the outer portions of my lips and Her Name Bubbles towards the inner portion of my lips.
If you love high shine lip products, you will love these lip lacquers. I was very impressed with the amount of shine that the product gives off. It just may be the glossiest lip product I have tried. It instantly leaves lips looking much fuller and plumper. Like many women, my pet peeve is sticky lip gloss! These lip lacquers are thick but definitely not sticky. I was also able to get a few hours of wear time before I had to reapply.
I found that Her Name Bubbles, provides more of a glossy finish than high pigmented color. It would look particularly nice over a matte neutral or even a light pink lipstick to add shine. The Warning, however, gave a bit more color.
With Smith & Cult, you are sure to find an array of shades to suit any mood. I definitely recommend these lip lacquers for a low-maintenance look that still looks put together!
