Managing Editor, Theresa Romano’s Fave Mascaras
Theresa likes a defined eye that doesn’t leave her with sparse lashes. She ensures that her lashes stay healthy with a coating of primer first.
CURLING: Clarins Be Long Mascara ($25.00) — “I usually stick to volumizing mascaras, but this curling and lengthening one really impressed me! With that small and curved plastic brush, it most definitely curled, separated and lengthened my lashes instantly! I look wide-awake when wearing this mascara. VOLUMIZING: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($23.00) — “This metallic pink tube of wonder gives me the fullest lashes! No falsies needed, the more you use the bigger your lashes. Its curved brush follows the same bust-to-waist ratio of Marilyn Monroe, hugging and lifting each lash. It adds fullness without weighing down your lashes. CONDITIONING: Krave Cosmeceuticals Vegie-Lash Mascara — “Whenever I wear this mascara, people always comment on how long my lashes are. Every. Single. Time! This vegetable-based mascara contains 80% less chemicals than regular mascaras. It has a HUGE, thick plastic brush and ultra-black pigment. INNOVATIVE: Avon Mega Effects Mascara ($10.00) — “This mascara is unlike any other. It looks like a paint brush with WonderBrush bristles that comb through lashes easily for clump-free volume. Unlike other mascara wands, it works to fit the curve of your eyes and adds 40% more mascara to lashes for more volume. PRIME: Clinique Lash Building Primer ($15.00) — “I’ve never reviewed this on the site, but before I wear ANY mascara, I put this on first. Just like foundation, this base helps protect my lashes and extend the wear of the formula. ‘Underwear for lashes!’ If people ever comment on how thick and full my lashes are, I always tell them that I use this every day.”
Senior Editor, Erin Sutera’s Favorite Mascara
Erin looks for a long-wearing formula that doesn’t transfer and gives her the blackest lashes!
LENGTHENING: Votre Vu Eiffel Power French Accents Lengthening & Fortifying Mascara ($24.00) — “This mascara has a huge brush, yet doesn’t make a mess on your lids or anywhere else. VOLUMIZING: Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara ($24.00) — “The conical shape of this mascara’s brush is so unique. It coats each lash from the tiniest to the largest. DARK PIGMENT: Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara ($28.00) — “This mascara also has an extremely dark, sexy pigment. It does the most work with the least amount of effort. One or two coats and you have the sultriest eyes ever. I also love this mascara because no matter how long it makes my lashes, the product never winds up on my lids!”
Senior Editor, Nicole G Levine’s Fave Mascaras:
Nicole likes a va-va-va VOOM eye look and can’t help but love a lash extension compliment.

GROWTH-ENHANCING/VOLUMIZING: L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara and Revlon Lash Potion Volume + Length Mascara by Grow Luscious — “One has an innovative brush and the other has soft bristles to swipe every eyelash.” See BEFORE/AFTER PHOTOS —> HERE!
THICKENING: Benefit They’re Real! Mascara ($23.00) — “It still fools people into thinking I have extensions, and I also really love L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Mascara for its intense color and lengthening power.”

Ev loves an affordable mascara that lengthens her lashes to new heights!
LENGTHENING: Maybelline New York The Rocket Volum’ Express Mascara — “I have tried MANY mascaras, I’m STILL using (and obsessed with) Maybelline’s The Rocket Mascara, since I reviewed it last December! Steph appreciates a mascara that can amp up her puny lashes… and her favorite was found at a drugstore!
VOLUMIZING: L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara — “I have NO eyelashes, So, I have been in hot pursuit of a mascara that will add volume, lengthen and plump up my puny lashes. Every year I get the Sephora Mascara Sampler hoping to find my savior. Little did I know I would find it in CVS. One day, the shiny silver tube of the Voluminous Butterfly Mascara caught my eye. For less than $10.00, I had to give it a try.
I am so happy I did! This mascara does it all for me: adds volume, length and definition. The coolest part is the brush: It looks like it has three distinctive sides that promises to extend and lift outer corner lashes to give you a winged-out effect, instantly volumizing lashes at the roots and stretching them outward.”
BEST BROWN MASCARA: YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils ($30.00) — “I always wear black mascara, but I really liked this brown one. The brush alternates thick, widely spaced bristles, while the finer more closely spaced bristles coat the shortest of lashes to create a voluminous defined lash. The formula wears very well. EYE-BRIGHTENING: Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightening Mascara ($20.00) — “I love the brush! It lifts every lash! It is so user-friendly, too. There aren’t any clumps, smudging or flaking. The Blue Prism Technology makes the whites of your eyes pop by using a blend of micas, titanium and blue pigments.
